Upcoming Music Artists make the Best Music
Upcoming music artists have it hard. The music industry is probably one of the most saturated entertainment markets there is. Millions of music artists are out there trying to get their songs heard. Meanwhile, most of the music listening audience are ignorant.
Most people listen to whatever songs are on the radio or whatever songs show up on the first page of Youtube. Therefore, upcoming music artists are left hungry. Hungry for people to listen to their music. Hungry for feedback on their new songs.
Who makes the best music?
When you consider who makes the best music, signed musicians with an endless music production budget, or upcoming music artists who are scrapping for studio time, who do you think makes the best music?
Those without a true appreciation for music, might say that signed artists with large production budgets come out with the best songs. But those who truly appreciate music and the heart put into every song, would say otherwise. Upcoming music artists by far put more heart and soul into their songs.
We’d love to hear others’ opinions on what music is better… Music from signed artists or music from new music artists. What do you think?

How can one say that one group of totally different people (new artists/musicians) write better music than the other group of totally different people (signed up artists/musicians)? There are musicians who’s got the label’s attention who write bad music even putting their hearts in it. There are new artists who also write bad music with all their heart in it. And there are musicians who put their whole into their music and their music is good. And they belong to either of these groups. So, everything is a little more complicated. One cannot say that only one of these two groups of people write the best music.

We’ve been faced with a few chances to be ‘signed’ and turned them down. Why? Because being signed means surrendering freedom.
A record deal wants one thing: to make money. And to do that, a signed musician doesn’t even have to be able to make music at all – preferably not, in fact! The best music in that scenario probably gets made elsewhere (by upcoming musicians) and the ‘signed’ musician performs it.
An upcoming musician will always struggle, since there are about 5 zillion of us out there, and will have to depend on his/her own resources to make music. Thank goodness it is possible to be an independent artist these days!
In my opinion, when it comes to good music, it’s not about the time or space, it’s about the desire and the will. We make time to make music. By definition, that’s the best music.
